Keating a British romantic poet wrote, "There is a time for daring and a time for caution, and wise man knows the difference." This means that in our lives we are going to be presented with situations, and if we are wise enough we will know when to take a dare and when to be cautious. We will be able to distinguish from a decision that can cause trouble, and a decision that will be risk taking but have fruitful results. In Dead Poet's Society, there is a kid who takes an unnecessary risk by publishing out in the school newspapers about the Dead Poets Society. He later gets caught and punished for what he did. In that case he was not wise and took a dare at the wrong moment. So we should always analyze first if it is wiser to be cautious or daring.
Thoreu wrote that he wanted to "Suck the marrow out of life." I think this means making the best out of our lives.
