To me there is a basic concept and three basic premises of time management. Anyone wanting to “manage” time must really wrap themselves around these ideas. Not that I have fully completed this, but as I come closer to doing it, things become clearer. Do not just say “Yah, some good points”. But live them fully. From these basics I have tried to systematized time management so that it is simple, not onerous to do. These basics will help you with whatever system you use. Mine is a number put together.
The basic concept is do not try to save time (you can’t), try to spend it wisely.
The basic premises are:
Everyone has 24 hours a day,
No one knows when time will stop,
Everyone lives now.
So, if you try to base your time management on any thing else, you end up in mis-management. Every time you think, “I don’t have enough time. Where do they get all that time? I’m afraid to do that.” go over the following explanations with the idea to spend your time fully and wisely.
Concept
- Have a mission written out, why are you here, what are you doing etc.
- Add your goals, with the main areas of physical, financial, spiritual, career, family, mental, social
- If you don’t have these, why to you want to “save” time?
